About Tzedek Chicago:
Tzedek Chicago is an antizionist Jewish spiritual community of nearly 400 member households, rooted in the core values of equity, justice, and solidarity with all oppressed people. Tzedek Chicago offers regular in-person programming based in the city of Chicago and the near suburbs, and consistently holds Shabbat, holiday, and adult educational programming virtually for our global membership. Our membership has steadily grown for the past 10 years, and we are entering a period of significant financial and programmatic development to meet the needs of our thriving intergenerational community.
Position Overview:
The Program Administrator coordinates the administrative, technical, and logistical aspects of all in-person, virtual, and hybrid Tzedek Chicago programming. This includes family and adult education, Shabbat, holidays, and special events. The position will work extensively in our CRM (customer relationship management) software, ShulCloud, and requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as basic familiarity with antizionist Jewish cultural and spiritual life. As Tzedek Chicago’s program offerings grow, the Programs Administrator will lead development of new programming and coordination with educators, both from within Tzedek Chicago’s membership and from partnerships with aligned individuals and organizations. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Executive Director and works occasional evenings and weekends, with compensation time taken during the workweek.
Position Duties:
Program Administration (50%)
Program Development - Oversee the development and administration of religious and educational programming at Tzedek Chicago, working closely with staff and community partners
Access - Secure access support for in-person and virtual events
In- Person Events - Coordinate all aspects of Tzedek Chicago in-person events, including site management, supply purchasing and delivery. Responsible for the transport and/or delivery of supplies as needed to on-site locations
Family Program - Support the Family Education Coordinator with supply management, family newsletters and communications, and all relevant CRM tasks
Volunteer Management–work closely with our events and education committees and member volunteers to appropriately manage and prepare for all events. Build relationships with members and coordinate volunteer roles.
CRM, Website Management, and Social Media (30%)
Serve as lead manager of Tzedek Chicago’s Membership CRM software, ShulCloud
Create and manage registration pages in ShulCloud
Provide ShulCloud technical support to members
Support Executive Director in managing program payments, donations, and proceeds
Ensure Tzedek Chicago’s website is functioning and up to date
Calendar updates, blog posts, and content management
Consistently promote events and programming on Tzedek Chicago’s social media channels
General Administrative Support (20%)
Manage Tzedek Chicago’s email inbox to provide regular support for members including receiving and responding to program access requests
Prepare and send Tzedek Chicago’s weekly newsletter
Attend to the accuracy of Tzedek Chicago’s internal and external program calendar
Manage, process and ship purchases from the Tzedek Chicago store
Manage and process mail from Tzedek Chicago’s PO Box
Pursue further education in ShulCloud CRM, SquareSpace, Google Suites, and other relevant technologies as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Background in administration, marketing and communications, and/or program management
Personally and professionally respect Tzedek Chicago’s core values
History of work requiring strong initiative and being highly organized
Relational skills with people of diverse lived experience, including race, age, gender, queerness, ability, socioeconomic status, interfaith families and Jews by choice, and Black, Indigenous Jews of color, Sephardi and Mizrahim
Professional event planning experience
Proficiency in Google Suite software
Entry-level knowledge of CRM systems, ideally familiarity with ShulCloud
Experience posting professionally to social media platforms
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
Work Structure:
This is a full time, exempt position averaging 40 hours a week
This position works 2-5 evenings/month and 1-2 weekends/month
This is a hybrid position based in Chicago. Tzedek Chicago holds most in-person programming at Lakeview Presbyterian Church (716 W. Addison), and occasionally other Chicago-area locations
This position will require regular attendance at both in-person and virtual programming

$60,000
