Upside Down Love: A Book Talk with author Sari Bashi

Join Tzedek Chicago in-person at Three Avenues Bookstore in Chicago, IL OR via Zoom for a book talk facilitated by Sasha Perry with Sari Bashi, author of the newly published, national bestselling Israeli-Palestinian memoir and love story, Upside-Down Love.

This timely and provocative book, originally written in Hebrew and recently published in English, made the USA Today bestselling books list and describes how Bashi, an Israeli-American Jewish human rights lawyer, and their partner, a Palestinian professor and refugee from a Muslim family, fell in love and managed to make it work, in the shadow of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. The memoir challenges assumptions about Israelis and Palestinians being locked into a biblically-ordained ethnic or religious conflict and instead presents an option of co-resistance. Bashi's relationship with their spouse during the war in Gaza has been the subject of a New York Times Modern Love essay.
