Join Tzedek Sings for creative community music making led by violinist/violist, cantorial soloist, and Yiddish dance leader Hannah Mira Friedland. Fostering musical and cultural exploration in a supportive environment, participants will primarily learn music rooted in the diasporic Yiddish folksong and klezmer music living traditions, sometimes incorporating music from additional Jewish cultural traditions and languages and newly composed settings. As part of the group’s repertoire, Tzedek Sings will prepare several special melodies for the High Holidays, Hanukkah, and Pesach services, during which the group will lead the congregation in song. In addition to programmed repertoire, participants will be encouraged to offer music they wish to explore together during song sessions.
