In Person at Federal Plaza & Online via Livestream. This hybrid event will take place in lieu of our regular Shabbat candle lighting service.
As was announced on Monday, six members of JVP's Chicago chapter began an indefinite hunger strike demanding "an end to the genocide in Gaza, unconditional military aid for Israel and the blockade of food and medical aid to the 2.3 million Palestinians now living amongst the rubble." As part of the group's schedule of events for the coming weeks, Tzedek Chicago will be hosting a Shabbat evening service tonight led by Rabbi Brant Rosen with musical accompaniment by local organizer and song-leader, Ethan Aronson.
In-person participants should plan to arrive at Federal Plaza prior to our 7:00 PM start time. QR codes linked to our prayer book will be available on site. In addition, JVP Chicago's instagram page will be livestreaming the event for those who wish to join virutally.
