Tzedek Chicago is hiring for two part-time positions: High Holiday Musician and Family Program Facilitator. Please see below for brief descriptions of each position and links to the full position descriptions, including instructions on how to apply.


HIGH HOLIDAY MUSICIAN (GUITARIST)

Compensation: $2,500-$3,000

Reports to: Rabbi 

Position Overview:  Tzedek Chicago is a hybrid, international community. Nearly 350 in person and several hundred more virtual attendees join us for our High Holiday services. Tzedek Chicago hosts services on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, Erev Yom Kippur and Yom Kippur. The High Holiday musician will join Tzedek Chicago’s hazzan and violinist to co-create all music for Tzedek Chicago’s High Holiday services.

This position does not require hazzanut or particular familiarity with High Holiday liturgy. Musicians can expect two, 2 hour rehearsals per each holiday service, totaling 12 hours of rehearsal, and roughly 12 total hours of services between September 11-21, 2026.

FAMILY PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Compensation: $30/hr, 13-14 hrs/month

Reports to: Executive Director 

Program Description:  At Tzedek Chicago’s Family Program, families explore their relationship to Jewish practice, text, and culture through experiential study and play. We take our learning seriously, and we celebrate the power of joy in our Jewish journeys. Grounded in Tzedek Chicago’s core values of equity, justice, and solidarity, we understand our program as a place for us to heal and grow as Jewish people as we welcome children and adults from wherever they are to build the world to come together. 

Position Overview:  The Family Program Facilitator will be responsible for lesson plan design and facilitation for our age 9 and older session. The Family Program Facilitator will meet the Executive Director bi-weekly for supervision, lesson planning, and professional development meetings. The Family Program Facilitator will oversee the administrative responsibilities of the day-to-day aspects of the program, including corresponding with families, supply acquisition and management, and space set up/clean up. The 9+ class is a drop-off program. This facilitator will work from our established curriculum to create original, detailed, and responsive lesson plans for each session.
