On the festival of Shavuot, we invoke the sacred covenant embodied by Sinai and recommit ourselves to the cause of justice in our world. When we contemplate the injustices that abound at this political moment, we cannot escape the daily onslaught of news of the inhumane and unlawful treatment inflicted on migrants by our government. In observance of Shavuot, Tzedek Chicago is presenting this opportunity to learn more about work that is being done to support migrants in the Chicago area.
As we recommit to the cause of justice, let us turn our horror and dismay into action. As we invoke the generations stretching forward from that mythic moment at Sinai we ask: generations from now, will people look back and consider us among the righteous? Please join us.
