Dear Haverim,

I'm just a little more than a week into my tenure as Tzedek Chicago's full-time rabbi, I'm happy to report that so far, I've been enjoying it thoroughly!

Now that I'm devoting my time to our congregation exclusively, my first order of business is very simple: I want to get to know our members. I want to get to know you, to learn why you've joined Tzedek Chicago, and to explore ways you can connect with our congregation more deeply. I'm currently setting up one on one meetings with individual members. If you are interested in meeting with me, however, please don't wait for my call! Just contact me at rabbi@tzedekchicago.org and we'll arrange a meeting. I'm eager to meet with you as well.

I'll also be increasingly devoting my time to work more closely with our board and committees. As a young congregation, we're still building our organizational infrastructure from ground up - and we need your help. If you're interested or motivated to get involved, please let me know. Naturally, we'll continue to offer you information about upcoming volunteer opportunities as we go forward.

And of course, as your full-time rabbi, I'm now formally available to our members to do what rabbis typically do: life cycle events, (such as weddings, funerals and baby namings), pastoral visits/counseling etc. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if I can be of help or support to you in this regard.

A note about meetings: as we do not yet have a dedicated office space, I'm currently meeting with folks in homes or public spaces such as coffee shops/cafes. We are currently searching for dedicated office space and hope to set up shop soon. (Of course if any members have any leads or thoughts about appropriate space/s that might be available, please be in touch with us.)

In addition to all of the above, Tzedek is also blessed with an amazing and talented staff who are always eager to get to know you (see below for a message from our Social Media Manager, Hannah Rehak). You can reach our Assistant Clergy Jay Stanton at stanton.jay@gmail.com Family Program Coordinator, Aviva Stein at familyprograms@gmail.com and our cantorial soloist Leah Shoshanah at leahshoshanah@gmail.com

As 2020 begins, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve this special community. I'm more convinced than ever that the world needs a congregation such as ours - and I'm so grateful to the many members whose love and dedication have helped us reach this new milestone. May we go from strength to strength, inspiring each other every step of the way!

Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Brant Rosen
